Jennifer's 30th Birthday!

Also during Mom & Dad's visit we had a 'Mexican night' where Jamie and I cooked some Tex Mex, and we also opened my presents to celebrate my 30th birthday!  It really was special that my whole family could be together in London and I was so grateful to have everyone here.

The violet plant Tara got me last year!

Part of Lloyd & Jamie's surprise for me was hiding 30 presents all around the house and making me find them.  They were all numbered and some were hidden more than others, haha.

Jamie & Lloyd drew some beautiful stick-person art in my cute
new picture frame

Evaluating all the presents...no idea what's in these things!

Lloyd knows me too well...I'm a sucker for Pop Tarts!

And clearly I'm excited about these Velveeta shells & cheese!

And the present grand finale....SKYDIVING!!

Lloyd and I had always talked about going Skydiving and although my mom made us promise to only tell her after we had gone, we are really looking forward to it!

Jamie thought it would be hilarious to give me a package of adult diapers as a present, but I was most offended that they bought me a size medium instead of a small, haha.
And a party wouldn't be a party without some adult diapers so Jamie insisted we all try them on!

True love wears diapers!

The rest of the night we had a blast playing charades and other games and there were lots of laughs all around.

The 2nd phase to my birthday week celebration was dinner with the family on Thursday the 20th.  I picked a quaint Italian place in Fulham Broadway, a small, family-owned place that was just bursting with friendliness and hospitality!  They gave me flowers and made it a really special dinner for my family.

Great pic with Mom!

Lets see how many takes till we get a normal face...

Such a sweet guy, so thankful to have him at my side as I ring in my 30th!
We also had a special guest who joined us for dinner...Vince Penkala!  Vince & my dad worked together for many years and were close friends, and it was by pure luck that he happened to be in London this night and was able to join us for the festivities!  Dad was so excited to see his friend and we all had a really fantastic evening.

Beavers in London

After we left Nice we headed straight for London, where my folks had rented an apartment two streets down from Lloyd's & my place.  The 'Coach House on Altenburg gardens was a perfect, quiet apartment situated in between the Common and some cute shops & restaurants on Battersea Rise.

Jamie entertained Mom & Dad when I was at work and some of their trips included tea at Harrods and a trip up to Watford to see Sharon & Andrew.

our trip to the Globe Theatre.
Taming of the Shrew at the Globe!
The Globe Theatre is right across from St. Paul's cathedral so we had some great views right across the Thames.

One of the days we went to Churchill's Cabinet War Rooms, which was really informative & interesting.  Located near Westminster, we got to walk past Big Ben & Westminster Abbey.

Another day Mom, Dad and I walked through the common to one of my favorite beer gardens, the Windill Pub.

Mom took this picture for Grandpa - A little seating area made from an old trunk!  So cute.

One Sunday during their visit we went to Richmond for a 'proper' British Sunday Roast at a pub overlooking the Thames (and to celebrate Barry's birthday!).  The food was delicious and we walked down to the river when we were finished eating.

When we neared the White Cross Pub we realised we were there in time for high tide! Luckily we could walk around the water so we weren't deterred from our drink spot.

The end of a great day!

We had such a great time with Mom and Dad but it was so hard saying goodbye. Looking forward to seeing them again soon!!
